Founded by Rachel Murphy, a passionate facilitator and creative educator, The Innovation Lab combines proven methodologies like Design Thinking with dynamic, engaging experiences. Rachel brings years of experience working with government departments, academic institutions, and industry leaders to help individuals and teams innovate with confidence.

With a background in performance and innovation, Rachel's unique style blends creativity, empathy, and strategy, taking people from stuck to sparked. She's on a mission to make innovation more human, more fun, and more impactful.

Rachel  believes that creativity isn’t a luxury, it’s a survival skill. With over 200 design sprints under her belt, she’s helped everyone from government departments to university students unlock ideas, build confidence, and solve real-world challenges through human-centered design.

Rachel’s background blends deep facilitation expertise with experiential learning, creative thinking, and storytelling. She’s trained in Design Thinking, Innovation Facilitation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, and brings high energy and heart to every session.

She’s especially passionate about:

  • Empowering teams to think differently

  • Helping people overcome imposter syndrome

  • Making innovation practical, playful, and impactful​

Through The Innovation Lab, Rachel’s mission is to create spaces where people feel brave, heard, and ready to take action — whether they’re in a boardroom, a classroom, or somewhere in between.
